Thank you very much for having participated in:
the 2nd NIFS-CRC* International
Symposium on
Plasma-Surface Interactions
which was held for Jan.,
combining the two
workshops:
the 1st International Workshop on "Lithium Applications to
Boundary Control and their Effects on Core Plasma Performance in Fusion
Devices"
and
the 3rd Korea-Japan Workshop on "Edge-Plasma and Surface
Component Interactions in Steady State Magnetic Fusion Devices"

The 2nd NIFS-CRC* international
symposium on plasma-surface interactions will be held at NIFS in Toki, Japan for
Jan. 18th-20th, 2010. The purpose of this symposium is to bring together
world-leading experts in the area of research related to plasma-surface
interactions in fusion devices, so that recent progress and technical issues can
be discussed for the development of future power reactors.
This symposium will be composed of sessions of topics covered by the
two workshops:
(1) the 1st International
workshop on "Lithium applications to boundary control and their effects on core
plasma performance in fusion devices"; and
(2) the
3rd Korea-Japan workshop on "Edge-plasma and surface component interactions in
steady state magnetic fusion devices".
Topics for
(1):
1. Lithium effects on edge and core plasma properties in confinement
devices;
2. Laboratory experiments on plasma-lithium interactions;
3.
Solid, liquid and vapor lithium handling technologies;
4. Innovative
concepts for lithium applications to future reactors;
5. Simulations and
modeling of lithium behavior; and
6. Other related subjects to
above.
Topics for
(2):
1. Boundary
physics and PSI-issues in confinement devices;
2. Laboratory experiments on
plasma-surface interactions;
3. Particle control (fueling and recycling);
4. Atomic and molecular processes;
5. Edge plasma diagnostics;
6.
Simulations and modeling of plasma-surface interactions; and
7. Other related
subjects to above.
